RandText Pro Display Schedules/Features

RandText Pro supports the following content display schedules:

• Countdown - Content changes Daily Till Target Date - One of our most powerful features. You set a start date and a target date and define the content to be displayed for each day up till the target day is reached. The predefined content will automatically change daily till the target date is reached. After the target date is passed, the default content (that you define) will be displayed. If you don't define content for a particular day during the countdown period, the default content would be displayed. Great for things like announcements of an event where you count the days till "the event" will happen. Helps build anticipation for the upcoming event. 
• Random - Content changes with each reload - Create a file of unlimited messages/content. RandText will randomly select a different message each time the page is displayed or refreshed.
• Sequential-Content changes every nth day - Create a file of up to 365 messages. RandText will sequentially cycle through the file and display a different message every nth day (you control the nth). Great for things like a "quote of the day" or "tip of the day".
• Daily (By Time of Day) - This feature allows you to schedule the display of content by time of day for each day of the week. Define, by day of week, multiple time slots and the content that should be displayed during each time slot. A time slot can be as short as one minute or as long as 24 hours.

  (Originally written for a radio station that wanted its website content to change simultaneously with each new broadcast program. Also ideal for websites with shopping carts where you'd want to promote a one or two hour special).

• Daily (By Day of Week) - Create a file of 7 messages/content, one for each day of the week. RandText will display the  message entered for each day of the week. At the end of a week, the cycle would start over again.
• Daily (By Day of Month) - Create a file of 31 messages/content, one for each day of the month. RandText will display the message entered for each day of the month on that day. At the end of a month, the cycle would start over again. During months that have less then 31 days, the extra messages would not be displayed.
• Daily (By Day of Year) - The ultimate in control over predefined messaging/content. Create a file of 365 messages, one for each day of the year. RandText will display the message entered for each day of the year on that day. At the end of a year, the cycle would start over again.
• Monthly (12 Times per Year) - Create a file of 12 messages/content, one for each month of the year. RandText will display the message entered for each month during that month only. At the end of a month, the next month's message would be displayed.
• Weekly (52 Times per Year) - Allows you to define 52 unique messages/content, one for each week of the year. RandText will display the message entered for each week during that week only. At the end of a week, the next week's message would be displayed.
• Display Today's Date - Just a little add-on that allows you to display today's date. The date format can be customized to your liking. In addition to U.S. format, RandText Pro been upgraded to support multiple variations of International and European date formats. View sample dates.

Additional Features:

• Full Featured Admin Panel - The RandText Pro admin panel gives you full control over the creation and timed display of content.
• "Forgot Password" functionality - If you forgot your password, RandText Pro will allow you to reset your password and set up a new one
• Integrated WYSIWYG html editor - For IE 5.5+ (Windows), Firefox 1.0+, Mozilla 1.3+ and Netscape 7+ users, RandText Pro will replace all <textarea> fields with a fully featured WYSIWYG html editor. This feature simplifies working with HTML by creating a user friendly interface similar to FrontPage or Dreamweaver.
• Local Time Adjustment - Allows you to specify an adjustment factor that will compensate for time zone differences between your server and your local time. Ensures accurate display of time sensitive data.
• Display Mode Feature - This feature allows you to turn OFF/ON the display of any content file. Setting the display mode to "OFF" turns off the SSI call without having to remove it from your html.
• Start Date Feature - Define a Start Date for displaying any file's content. When a Start Date is specified, the affected file's content will not be displayed on your html pages until the specified date is reached.
• Dynamic Dropdowns - Create "Dynamic Dropdowns" for displaying previous periods of content. Visitors will be able to easily link to previous/historical content in a controlled popup window format. See a demo of this powerful feature.
• External File Support - RandText Pro can link to any external file and display its contents. Use your favorite html editor, such as FrontPage or Dreamweaver to create files and/or web pages and then have RandText Pro display them using one of the predefined rotation schedules above. If you need to schedule the display of large blocks of html or entire web pages, this is an ideal solution.
• Full Web Page - This powerful feature takes advantage of the integrated WYSIWYG html editor and allows you to easily create html for a web page. The html could be as small as a line of text or as big as an entire web page. Then, using an SSI call, randtext.pl will display the html on your page. This feature allows you to edit your web page content from any browser and change content without the need to FTP.
